Assistant documentation
Connect an assistant
Use the shipped Playflow assistant with your current workspace permissions.
Remote MCP server
Use this Streamable HTTP server URL for each client:
https://getplayflow.co/api/mcpSign in with your Playflow account through OAuth. Do not use an API key or paste an access token into client configuration. The client discovers authorization endpoints and uses an authorization code with PKCE. On consent, check the client name and requested workspaces. Your membership, plan and permissions are rechecked on each call.
Client compatibility
Playflow supports OAuth Client ID Metadata Documents (CIMD). A compatible client sends its own HTTPS metadata-document URL as client_id; Playflow does not issue a client secret for this flow. Leave optional client ID and client secret fields blank when the client supplies CIMD automatically.
Dynamic client registration is not supported. If your version of Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor only attempts dynamic registration, that version cannot connect through this flow. Do not invent client credentials to bypass it. Client metadata is not verified by Playflow, so review the consent screen before authorizing.
Claude
- Open Claude's settings and add a custom remote MCP connector.
- Name it Playflow and enter the server URL above.
- Connect, complete the Playflow sign-in and review the OAuth consent screen.
- Enable the connector for your conversation and ask about a workspace you can access.
Client field names and connector availability can vary by Claude account and version.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open the apps or connectors settings. If your account requires developer mode for a custom remote MCP app, enable it there.
- Add a custom MCP app named Playflow with the server URL above and OAuth authentication.
- Connect it, sign in to Playflow and review the consent screen.
- Enable the app in a conversation and ask a workspace question.
Custom MCP support depends on the ChatGPT account and client version. The CIMD compatibility requirement above still applies.
Cursor
Add a remote server in Cursor's MCP settings, or use this configuration in your MCP configuration file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"Playflow": {
"url": "https://getplayflow.co/api/mcp"
}
}
}Connect the server and complete the Playflow OAuth sign-in in the browser. Review consent, then return to Cursor and enable the server. Use a Cursor version that supports the CIMD flow described above.
Disconnect or troubleshoot
Manage and revoke your connection in Settings, Connected apps. Revocation stops future calls. A workspace-tier connection cannot read the private operator guide. Operator access requires a current platform-administrator account and a separately authorized operator-tier grant.
If sign-in fails, check client compatibility and the server URL before retrying. A connected client does not bypass a workspace's read-only plan or your role.
