Assistant documentation
Ask Playflow in the app
Use the shipped Playflow assistant with your current workspace permissions.
Open Ask Playflow
Use Ask Playflow in the tenant top bar, or press Cmd+K on Mac and Ctrl+K elsewhere. Escape or the close button closes the panel. Starter prompts help you begin. The panel is a full-height sheet on phones. Full screen keeps the top bar, centers the thread and shows a conversation rail with your recent history.
Scope and page context
The scope starts at All workspaces. Pick one workspace to narrow it; a “Now asking about” divider records the change. The removable “This video” chip supplies the current video's context. Navigation answers switch workspace first when needed. A transcript timestamp opens the in-app video page at that moment without overriding an early Play or a seek you make yourself.
Operators start at All tenants. Operator conversations stay separate. A change preview always names exactly one workspace.
Preview, Confirm and Undo
Check the struck-out old value, new value, color swatches and affected-video list before Confirm. Cancel discards the proposal. After 10 minutes, a preview cannot apply; use Rebuild preview or Dismiss. If the underlying data changed, preview again.
An Applied card offers Undo for 10 minutes, including a toast. It shows the undone state or individual partial failures. Owners have the longer eligible settings Undo window in Assistant activity. Upload and replacement handoffs open the existing app dialogs.
Credits
The composer credit icon opens your remaining balance, progress bar, reset date and plan. Below 20 percent it turns amber. At zero, the composer shows “Available again on” with the date. Owners on paid plans can follow Add credits to Settings, Billing; the panel contains no prices.
Messages use the relevant workspace's credits, or the active workspace in All workspaces. Previews, Confirm and Undo do not use credits. MCP calls are free of Playflow credits. Read the allowance and purchase rules.
Images and video handoffs
Use + to attach images. Thumbnails appear before sending and can be removed. Images are private to the selected workspace and expire after 24 hours. An operator must pick a single tenant first; All tenants cannot accept image attachments. Operator uploads are audited with the operator as actor.
Choosing a video opens the regular upload dialog. Videos never upload into chat. Images can support permitted poster, logo or watermark previews.
Answers and recovery
Recaps include a period comparison, an Analytics link and CSV download. Transcript results show the video, timestamp and snippet. Share links and workspace embed snippets have copy actions. Refusals give a polite explanation and a link to the right app page; read-only plans get steps instead of an unauthorized change.
Working indicators show when tools take time. Tool failures and offline states remain in the panel so the rest of the app stays usable. Follow-up chips can navigate, refine scope or continue a prepared question. Clear my history asks for confirmation and clears only your own conversations.
